The Bouse Chamber of Commerce continues to focus on the vitality and economic growth of our community. With the assistance of volunteers we are able to host and sponsor a number of events celebrating our local history and involving our citizens. Here is a partial list of accomplishments, events and community projects provided by the Bouse Chamber:
Ongoing Services and Events
- Museum and chamber general operations, community bulletin boards
- Promote Bouse and vicinity history
- Work with the Bouse Booster Club to provide volunteer and promotional assistance for fund raising events for local school programs, including the Spaghetti Feed, Bouse Founders Day, and blood drives
- Provide visitors and residents with information on county businesses; and community and recreation activities
- Participate with the Arizona Outback Coalition
- Roundtable meetings with local business owners
- Highway clean up in coordination with the local school and Arizona DOT
- Cooperation with other La Paz County chambers of commerce
- Work with Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion on Camp Bouse Memorial site and dedication
- Christmas Lights contest with local businesses, residents and RV parks
- Partner in publication of a monthly community newsletter
- Coordinate with La Paz County in the annual community clean up efforts
- Work with the Bureau of Land Management, local off road organizations and the Arizona Outback to map the area ATV trails; provide detailed maps and safety zones for the Bouse area, including Plomosa, Midway, Swansea and Quartzsite
- Purchase a new computer system enabled to report real-time local weather electronically to the weather agencies
- Construction and placement of “Welcome to Historical Bouse” signs at each end of town
- Obtain lease for property to develop a rest and parking area adjacent to local restaurants, real estate office and shops
- Construct highway safety zones so pedestrians can cross safely from the new parking area to businesses
- Continue supporting the La Paz County Historical Society.
